If you always thought of joining a service club, now is your opportunity. The Twin Cities Woman’s Club (TCWC) is recruiting new members. Organized and incorporated in 1983, the Twin Cities Woman’s Club has been a part of the Okaloosa/Walton community for over 36 years. “The TCWC is looking for women who desire to make a difference by helping others in the local community, and who wish to bring new energy and ideas for continued growth and support of the club and its charities,” said Kissy Gordon, TCWC President.

TCWC Highlights:
• The TCWC’s primary focus is their scholarship fund. Scholarships were awarded in 2019 to four women for $1,800 each…totaling $7,200. Since 1999, the club has contributed approximately $209,200 to scholarships.
• The TCWC also supports the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation scholarship program, Take Stock in Children. This year $2,000 was donated to the program. In addition to monetary donations, club members have also volunteered as TSIC mentors for individual students.
• Club members have participated in the Okaloosa/Walton County Mental Health Association’s Project Cheer since 2010. Members cut, sew, and prepare 700 draw-string bags which are filled with various personal care and other items, and distributed to clients for Christmas Project Cheer and the Veterans Stand Down.
• TCWC members volunteer at the Twin Cities Pavilion Assisted Living Facility in Niceville in support of social activities for the many elderly residents. They help decorate for Christmas, sponsor Bingo on St. Patrick’s Day and supply monthly snacks.
• TCWC members also collect food and supplies for many charitable organizations, such as Caring and Sharing, Shelter House, USO, Fisher House, Healing Paws for Warriors and others.
• TCWC members who enjoy crafting donate items for the TCWC Craft Booth at the World Bazaar & Benefit Fair held the last weekend in October at Crosspoint UMC, Niceville. Proceeds from the booth benefit scholarships and charities the club supports.
