Every few years, the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida brings history to life during a special evening that includes food and beverages. Participants move in small groups through several museum stations, where people from the past come alive through performances. Appetizers and drink refills add to the feel of a storybook garden party. Guests may also receive a souvenir to help them remember the special evening.
Past events have focused on historical figures from area communities. One year, Valparaiso’s founders discussed the development and promotion of the city. Another year, prominent Niceville leaders were highlighted. At a Crestview-themed event, longtime U.S. Rep. Bob Sikes came to life to discuss politics.
From 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3, 2026, the nation’s 250th birthday will be celebrated throughout the museum. Guests might even meet George Washington and sign a commemorative copy of the Declaration of Independence. All patriots attending the event will leave their “John Hancock” on a special document commemorating the evening.
Tickets may be purchased by credit card by calling the museum at 850-678-2615 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased with cash or a check at the museum in Valparaiso.
Seating is limited to the first 80 people who register and pay. Tickets are $60 per person or $50 for museum members. Annual memberships are available throughout the year, with prices varying by age. The museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions may be tax-deductible.
