This September marked 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day that changed our country and an entire generation of military families.
As veterans ourselves, this anniversary hit close to home. We know the sacrifices made by those who raised their right hand, but we also know military service is rarely carried by one person. Spouses, children, parents and friends serve in their own ways through deployments, moves, missed holidays and countless unknowns. That’s one reason being part of the Emerald Coast means so much to us.
Dirty N Sturdy Fencing may build fences, but this business has given our family something much bigger: a community. Being veteran-owned in an area with such a strong military presence has allowed us to meet incredible people, hear their stories and build relationships with customers who often become friends. Every time someone trusts our small business with their home, recommends us to a neighbor, shares one of our posts or simply waves when they see our truck, it means something to us. This community has supported our family and helped turn an idea into a business we are incredibly proud of.
Twenty-five years later, we remember those we lost on 9/11, those who answered the call afterward, and the families who stood beside them. To our military members, veterans, first responders and their families: thank you. And to the Emerald Coast community that continues to support this veteran-owned family business: thank you for giving us a place to call home, a business to be proud of, and neighbors worth building for.
We’re proud to be Dirty N Sturdy—and even prouder to be part of this community.
