October is the perfect time for a murder mystery, and Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) is bringing plenty of intrigue to the stage with The 39 Steps, running October 15–25 at Grand Boulevard.
Based on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller, The 39 Steps combines murder, espionage and romance in an adventure filled with rapid-fire comedy. Four actors take on more than 150 characters as one ordinary man finds himself caught in an extraordinary chase filled with twists, turns and laughs, making for a fun night out this fall.
Lovers of last season’s Murder on the Orient Express will find plenty to enjoy in this fast-paced thriller, including the return of audience favorite Hayes Mercure. After keeping audiences guessing as American businessman Samuel Ratchett, Hayes returns to the ECTC stage in The 39 Steps for another suspenseful adventure, this time on a deadly pursuit through the Northern European countryside.
Following The 39 Steps, ECTC heads into the holidays with its third production of Season 14, Million Dollar Quartet Christmas, running December 3–20. Featuring the music of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley, this high-energy holiday celebration combines rock ’n’ roll classics with Christmas favorites for a festive night of live music, nostalgia and holiday spirit.
Performances of The 39 Steps run October 15–25 at Emerald Coast Theatre Company, located at Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach. Tickets and more information are available at emeraldcoasttheatre.org.
