Mid-Bay Rotary held its 27th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 5, 2026. Bluewater Bay Golf Club hosted 19 teams and 76 players. Teams included local golfers as well as teams from the Mid-Bay and Niceville-Valparaiso Rotary clubs.
First-, second- and third-place awards were supported by the following local golf courses: Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay, Emerald Bay, Blackwater, Fort Walton Beach Golf Club, Shalimar Pointe and Bluewater Bay. The putting contest and hole-in-one competitions were hosted by Dave Swanick II, Attorney at Law, and D.M. Rauch, CFP, of Raymond James. Five closest-to-the-pin awards and two longest-drive awards were provided by Mid-Bay Rotary.
Mid-Bay Rotary thanks Rotarian Steve Mixon and his mentor, Rotarian Art Jean, for leading this highly successful event. Players had the opportunity to win $5,000 in the putting contest and $10,000 in the hole-in-one challenge. Multiple prizes were awarded to winners.
Thanks also go to Rotarian and President-Elect Valerie Holmes for putting together 12 gift baskets that were raffled off and to Rotarian Lynn Deyerle, who assembled the gift bags given to each golfer.
Lunch, featuring pulled pork sandwiches, was donated by Papa’s Smokehouse. Dinner, featuring wings, was catered by The Blue Tee restaurant. Both meals were served by Mid-Bay Rotarians and Mid-Bay Rotary Partners.
Mid-Bay Rotary also thanks its 49 Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors, who supported the fundraiser through cash donations, prize coupons and other in-kind contributions, including food and beverages.
Net proceeds from the tournament, totaling more than $12,500, will benefit multiple local charitable organizations and programs, including student scholarships, the Rotary Youth Camp and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
