Golf Elizabeth Palmer-Niceville Runner-UpThe Miracle Strip High Golf Tournament continued to celebrate golf for teens this year at Fort Walton Municipal Golf Course. The tournament began 40 years ago, hosting male and female golfers to compete as individuals and as a team. Then, 24 years ago, this same tournament split into two tournaments to host boys and girls teams separately.

On a beautiful day, October 9, the following schools sent their best female golfers to vie for honors. These schools included Navarre, Choctawhatchee, West Florida, Pensacola High, Pensacola Catholic, Baker, Gulf Breeze, Niceville, Crestview, Pine Forest and South Walton. There were 64 girls who entered the competition.

Individual players were scored as well, using the lowest score for the winner. In golf, low scores win! After almost six hours of play, two schools emerged victorious. Niceville High’s team was runner-up with a score of 335. South Walton was the winner with a score of 306.

Individual winners are congratulated with impressive scores. Runner-up, Elizabeth Palmer, from Niceville High School, scored 76 or 4 over Par. Winner, Neely Kight from South Walton, scored 72 or Even Par. Congratulations, ladies! We know all of you had fun and enjoyed the day.
