The 37,000-square-foot club will feature Crunch Reform Pilates™ and Pump Strength Training™ studios, with presales beginning this winter.
If you’ve driven past Longhorn Plaza on Mary Esther Cut Off and wondered what is taking shape, here’s the answer: a brand-new Crunch Fitness—and it is going to be big.
The $5 million, 37,000-square-foot club is expected to open this winter at 546 Mary Esther Cut Off NW, with membership presales beginning this fall. It will serve members from Fort Walton Beach, Mary Esther, Destin and communities around Choctawhatchee Bay, including residents connected to Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base.
The former retail space is being transformed into a modern fitness club that will be open and staffed 24 hours a day—making it a practical option for shift workers, military members and anyone whose workout schedule doesn’t fit neatly between nine and five.
Crunch’s 3.0 design will give the club a modern look while organizing the space so members can move easily between cardio, strength, classes and recovery.

Never been inside a Crunch? Think less “quiet room full of treadmills” and more high-energy fitness playground. Crunch built its name around making serious exercise fun, with a “No Judgments” philosophy that welcomes beginners, longtime lifters, busy parents and everyone in between.
“The Crunch experience is a natural fit for the area’s active coastal lifestyle and strong, family-friendly, military-connected community,” said Mike Goodsell, Chief Officer for Fit Fusion, the franchisee opening the club. “Crunch will give the community a place to challenge themselves, connect and feel stronger together.”
Two new specialty studios will help set this location apart. The Crunch Reform Pilates™ Studio will offer instructor-led reformer workouts with digital guidance—bringing the feel of a boutique Pilates studio into a full-service gym. The Pump Strength Training™ Studio will feature structured, coach-led sessions designed to help members build strength and track their progress. Both studios are included with Peak Results memberships.
There is plenty more under one roof. Plans include expanded cardio, strength and functional training areas; Olympic lifting platforms; indoor turf; TRX®; hot yoga; advanced HIIT classes; Power Half Hour circuit training; personal training and Crunch’s signature group fitness classes.
And because recovery matters, too, the Relax & Recover® area will include HydroMassage® beds, red light therapy and cryotherapy. Members will find tanning, a sauna, full-service locker rooms with showers and Kids Crunch babysitting—a welcome perk for parents trying to fit in a workout without arranging separate childcare.

Memberships start at $9.99 per month, and Crunch Fort Walton Beach will offer an exclusive, limited-time promotion for founding members. The first 500 members can join for only $1 and receive their first month free, a limited-edition founding member T-shirt and free Crunch swag, to be part of this Founding 500 group reserve your rate here. Prospective members can also enter to win one of 10 free one-year memberships info.crunch.com/sweepstakes-presale?club=821.
