Niceville High School is adding a familiar and highly respected name to its football program.
The school recently announced the hiring of veteran coach Greg Thomas as the Eagles’ new offensive line coach, bringing more than three decades of coaching experience and a championship pedigree to the sidelines.
Thomas has served in multiple head coaching roles throughout his career and was part of four state championship teams in North Carolina. Locally, he is best known for his successful tenure at Choctawhatchee High School, where he served as head football coach and athletic director for 13 seasons before stepping down in 2020.
Niceville Head Football Coach Adron Robinson said Thomas’ experience and leadership will be an immediate asset to the Eagles program. “We are excited to welcome Coach Thomas to the Niceville football family,” Robinson said. “His experience, leadership and proven track record of developing student-athletes will be a tremendous asset to our program. Coach Thomas understands what it takes to build successful teams and strong young men, and our players will benefit greatly from his knowledge and mentorship.”
Niceville Principal Amy Meyer also praised the addition, noting Thomas’ commitment to student development both on and off the field. “Coach Thomas brings experience, knowledge and a passion for developing young people,” Meyer said. “He will be a tremendous addition to our school community. We are excited for the leadership he’ll bring to our football program and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our student-athletes.”
The addition of Thomas further strengthens a Niceville football program that continues to build on its tradition of excellence. His extensive coaching background, leadership experience and championship success are expected to provide immediate value as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season.
