The Fireworks Trust Fund will fully fund the annual 4th of July Fireworks Show over Boggy Bayou through donations from the community this year. This cherished tradition has been a staple in the Niceville‐Valparaiso area for many years, and the Fireworks Trust Fund is proud to continue to support it through the generosity of local businesses and community members.
The Fireworks Trust Fund also offers several fundraising opportunities to help further its mission of promoting safe fireworks displays. One such opportunity was the sale of Boston Butts for $40 each or three for $100. Tickets were sold online and at several locations throughout the community, including the Niceville Public Library, the Niceville Senior Center, Valparaiso City Hall, Niceville City Hall, or from any Fireworks Trust Fund member.
In addition to the Boston Butts, the Fireworks Trust Fund also held a 50/50 drawing. Suggested donation for the drawing was $5 for each ticket or 5 tickets for $20. Half of the proceeds from the drawing go to the winner, and the other half go to the Fireworks Trust Fund, Inc. The drawing was held at 6 p.m.. Friday, June 30, at the Mullet Festival site.
“We are excited to offer these new ways for the community to support the annual 4th of July Fireworks Show,” said Sheila Bishop, spokesperson for the Fireworks Trust Fund. “Not only can you enjoy delicious Boston Butts, but you can also potentially win big in our 50/50 drawing.”
