LJ Schooners Dockside Restaurant & Oyster Bar held its 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off in November where 12 competitors battled over best chili to raise funds for CALM – Crisis Aid for Littles and Moms. Ned Griffith took home Chef’s Award with his Mr. G’s 10 Second Chili. Buzz Clark won the People’s Choice award with Smokin Chili. Kevin Cook racked up the Bartender Brigade Award and The People’s Choice Cash Vote Award with his “no name” chili! Brett Hinely, Bluewater Bay Marina Complex President presented Wanda Siefke, Secretary to the Executive Board for CALM, a check for $1,300. CALM is a transition home for single moms and their children in crisis situations, such as homelessness.
