Who We Are
Imagine if there was no help with spiritual encouragement, empowerment or equipping in today’s business marketplace? Fortunately, there is a way you can be “Business Empowered” and it’s right here in our community!
Business Empowered (BE) was established in 2010 to bring hope, light and joy to workplaces throughout the city and our local community through faithful leadership, marketplace fellowship, and walking out and exemplifying Christian values where God has called us.
We’re celebrating 10 years of operation and ministry. Come and celebrate with us! Our vision is to equip, empower, and encourage leaders in their calling and their community. We believe that every person and city has a call and purpose that when realized and rightly connected to God and others, achieves even greater things. We strive to bring honor, good character and faithful values to the marketplace and encouragement to our community and region. Our members are actively making a positive contribution for stronger families and businesses built on God’s principles, pursuing unity within the “Church” of our city. We, too often, know who is on our “team” on Sunday mornings. We also need to know who is on our “team” Monday through Saturday. The Church of the city is meant to play such a key role in our cities and communities.

Now, 10 years later, we have seen God do amazing things in and through our city and in and through BE. The more we think about how good God is and what He has in store for each of us, we are encouraged and excited again about the mission and vision of BE. We believe the Church was meant to have a seat at the table in every city. BE is just one of the vehicles God is using today to accomplish this. We are excited to see what He has in store for BE, our city, your city, and you! And, we are thankful to play a part! BE activities and benefits include monthly meetings, weekly prayer, directory listing, special gatherings and workshops, support and promotion at local events and outreach. Meet the Founders:
Mel and Mona Ponder began Business Empowered with a vision for impacting business leaders and individuals to exemplify and advance the goodness of God in their workplace and community through Godly principles.
They each have more than 20 years’ experience in owning, managing and operating businesses, and have a keen understanding of the unique challenges and lifestyle demands business people face. They have worked with Fortune 500 companies, achieving national recognition for results. In addition, Florida State Representative, Mel Ponder has a decade of experience in government, which furthers his understanding of today’s business challenges. Most importantly, Mel and Mona each possess over 12 years of ministry leadership.This combination of experience in both ministry and the marketplace make Mel and Mona Ponder uniquely qualified to provide vision, leadership and expertise to help Business Empowered Members improve their results and impact their communities.
