2—Intro to Knitting Part 1 with Eliza Scalia. 3 – 4:30 pm. In part 1 of Eliza Scalia’s Intro to Knitting, she will be teaching how to begin a knitting project, including the very basics of how to knit. This class will conclude with part 2 on September 9. Bring own materials, including needles size #10 or #12 and chunky yarn. $47.50 for BOTH classes. Reserve at 850-729-2600.
3—Pop-up Shop with Beth McCurdy. 10 am – 3 pm. Join 30-A jewelry artist Beth McCurdy as she showcases her Gulf-inspired hand-crafted pieces utilizing shells, sand, epoxy, and various other embellishments.
3—Encaustic Scenes with Corina Zalace. 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. In the last opportunity of the year to experience encaustic wax artwork with instructor Corina Zalace, learn to explore working with a hot iron and stylus to create 4-5 Colored wax pictures (plus envelopes) of local scenes. Seating limited to 5, with no art experience necessary. $47.50 Supplies included. Register at 850-720-2600.
9—Intro to Knitting Part 2 with Eliza Scalia. 3:00-4:30 pm. In part 2, Eliza teaches how to finish a knitting project correctly. Return with project from previous class and own materials, including needles size #10 or #12 and chunky yarn. $47.50 for BOTH classes. Register at 850-720-2600.
10—Oil Florals the Impressionist Way with Jeanette Herron. 10:30 – 1:30 pm. Artists with some experience working in oils learn to paint like the masters with award winning artist Jeanette Herron, one of Artful Things Niceville’s featured gallery artists. $37.50 with own supplies, $75.00. 17—Acrylic Pour with Debi Profeta. 10:30-2:30. Popular Instructing Artist Debi Profeta returns to teach the “sunflower swipe” on two 10×20 gallery wrapped canvases. $77.50 Supplies included. Call 850-720-2600.
24—Intro to the Italic Hand with Elia Saxer. 10:30 – 1:30 pm. Artist and calligrapher Elia Saxer teaches the basic letter forms of the Italic Hand and how to write using a calligraphy pen. Students leave with a frameable piece of calligraphy artwork using a favorite quotation! $65. Supplies included. Register at 850-729-2600.
24—Andi Scurto reading The Accidental Adventure of Mattie the Giraffe. 11 am start time. Free to the public! Children of all ages are welcome.
