When the Kids Go Back to School, Will Your Dog Stay Home, Too?

If you’re a parent, there’s a good chance you’ve already started the back-to-school countdown. New backpacks? Check. School supplies? Check. Freshly sharpened pencils? Check.

But has anyone checked on the dog?

For the last few months, your kids have been your dog’s full-time entertainment committee. They’ve been tossing tennis balls, sneaking treats, opening the back door every five minutes, and serving as unpaid “in-home pet sitters.”

Then the month of August hits.

The house gets quiet. The school bus pulls away. Your dog looks out the window thinking, “Wait… where did my people go?”

Cue the escape plan.

It’s amazing how quickly a bored dog can discover that loose picket, weak gate latch, or little hole under the fence you’ve been meaning to fix “one of these weekends.” Before you know it, they’re introducing themselves to the neighbors or taking themselves on an unsupervised walk through the neighborhood.

Back-to-school season is actually one of the best times to give your fence a little attention. Walk the fence line, check for loose boards, sagging gates, and gaps underneath. Better yet, let Dirty N Sturdy Fencing do the heavy lifting. Whether it’s a quick repair, a complete replacement, or ongoing maintenance through our Fence Maintenance Plan, we’ll help make sure your backyard stays a safe place for everyone—especially your four-legged family members.

From our family to yours, we hope this school year is filled with great teachers, new friendships, and a little extra peace and quiet… unless, of course, your dog has other plans.

Here’s to happy kids, relieved parents, and pets that stay exactly where they’re supposed to be. At Dirty N Sturdy Fencing, we’re helping keep families together—one fence at a time.
