Specialty Roofers, Inc. (SRI), established in 2011, proudly offers the most trusted residential and commercial roofing brands and products available, as well as comprehensive installation and repair services.
The company – licensed, insured and bonded in Florida and Alabama – serves local and regional customers throughout the southeast and employs a dedicated staff of trained professionals and certified technicians.
As roofing trends go, president and general manager Mike Miller says he’s seeing more and more people make the switch to metal roofing because of energy savings and wind resistance.
“We’re one of the only roofing companies in the immediate area with our own separate metal shop for fabricating.” And SRI offers its own mobile panel machine, which allows the crews to fabricate roof panels on site.
With hurricane season in full swing, Miller swears by Roof Shield. This program protects homeowners and detects any problems early, saving customers thousands of dollars.
“We inspect customer roofs annually to make sure they’re in good shape and ‘hurricane ready,’” says Miller. “Anyone that signs up for this moves to the top of the priority list for repairs and getting new roofs installed.”
Roof Shield costs $450 annually, which Miller calls “very reasonable. A lot of people don’t realize squirrels have chewed on something or they’ve had their gutters clogged. This is the fifth year we’ve offered this, and we’ve had lots of success with the program. It’s gained a lot of momentum.”
SRI currently employs over 50 people. “We’ve been blessed with very little turnover,” Miller says of his crew. “Several have been with us since we first opened, including a few crews and about a dozen installers.”
SRI stands apart from other roofing contractors in the areas of knowledge (skills are constantly learned and honed), customer service (realistic expectations and clear communications) and reputation (SRI has been a dominant force in the local roofing market since 2011).
In 2023, GAF – North America’s largest roofing manufacturer – presented SRI with its President’s Club 3-Star Award for outstanding achievement in the roofing industry, citing “exceptional workmanship and customer service, and commitment to excellence.” Only six Florida companies have received this honor.
Miller serves on the GAF advisory board. “It’s been interesting working with them on things that will improve the industry,” he says.
The SRI website includes testimonials from very satisfied customers and a user-friendly free quote form. There is also a blog featuring topics like the importance of leaf removal, roofing trends for the coming year, and detecting signs of poor ventilation in houses.
As for the company’s philanthropical endeavors, SRI raised over $60,000 for Westonwood Ranch with the inaugural Sports Clay Shooting Tournament in 2022. The 10-acre ranch in Freeport offers life skills and job skill training to teenagers and young adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
